Terrance J. Slaughter

Biography

Terrance J. Slaughter is the incoming Assistant Principal at Lakenheath High School. 

Mr. Slaughter is a 1982 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. Upon completion of high school, Mr. Slaughter entered the U.S. Marine Corps where he served twenty years in various billets and duty stations within CONUS and abroad. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Houston. He later received his Masters of Educational degree in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University, and his second Masters of Arts degree in Biblical Studies and Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. 

Mr. Slaughter's educational career began in Houston Independent School District as a Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training (NJROTC) teacher/instructor. Upon completion of his first year teaching he was requested to join the Tomball Independent School district, where he implemented the Teen Leadership Program within the district. Mr. Slaughter was later asked to join the Social Studies team of Tomball Junior High where he served as teacher, team leader/coach for 7th Grade Texas History and 8th Grade U.S. History teams. Mr. Slaughter also served in the role of football and head track coach from 2006 - 2014. In April 2015 Mr. Slaughter was selected to open a new campus as Assistant Principal of Creekside Park Junior High School. Mr. Slaughter also served as Assistant Principal at Willow Wood Junior High and was later promoted to the Associate Principal role at Tomball High School. 

Mr. Slaughter firmly believes that to be an effective leader, relationships with students and staff should be authentic and intentional. He also believes in strong work ethics, and that solid partnership with parents and stakeholders are keys to success for both students and school.

Mr. Slaughter is married to Teresa Slaughter and are the proud parents of 2 adult children, both of which were students in DoD schools, Japan, and 5 grandchildren.
